We go to great lengths to produce healthy, genetically sound pups.
We take pride in satisfying new owners with the selection of their
puppy, and we want very much for you to be pleased with your
new addition.
All dogs are sold in good faith. No dog is sold for any specific
use or guarantee of performance, such as brood bitch, stud dog,
show dog or field trial competitor.
You have five days in which to have your veterinarian examine
your pup for any health problems. If there is a problem that is
hereditary of congenital defects, Copperhead Kennels will replace
that dog. The dog must be returned to us the following day with
a statement from your veterinarian as to the problem, to receive
a full refund of the price of the pup, excluding shipping charges.
If, by the age of 26 months, the dog developes:
---Hip Dysplasia, as evaluated by the OFA, or
by the age of 12 months, the dog developes:
---Progressive Retinal Atrophy and /or Congenital Cataracts, as
certified by an ACVO Diplomate veterinary ophthalmologists it
shall be replaced by Copperhead Kennels with another puppy of
equal value or similar quality. Replacement shall be supplied free
of all charges except shipping. If the value of the replacement puppy
is greater than the original purchase price the buyer will be responsible
for paying the difference.
The buyer has several responsibilities for the terms of the guarantee
to remain in effect:
1. We, the breeder, must be notified within fifteen days of diagnosis of
Hip Dysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, or Congenitial Cataracts.
2. The dog must be euthanized or neutered/spayed before reaching
30 months of age.
3. The dog may not have been bred prior to the claim.
4. The buyer must use Copperhead Kennel in the dogs registered name.
Claim for replacement shall be in writing, and shall be accompanied by
the following:
1. A copy of this quarantee.
2. The original AKC registration certificate, with ownership signed
back to us.
3. A veterinary certification of neutering/spaying or euthanasia.
4. A veterinary certification of hip or eye defect as described above.
The claim must be submitted to the breeder with all required
documents before any action will be taken. We, the breeder, reserve
the right to take possession of the affected live dog in the event the
buyer makes a claim for a replacement puppy.
